The Barber National Institute is committed to our mission of providing the highest quality services for children and adults with autism, intellectual disabilities or behavioral health challenges and their families. Since our founding in 1952, we have evolved into a multi-faceted organization serving more than 5,400 individuals annually with a wide range of educational, vocational, residential and behavioral health programs.
Today, the Barber National Institute employs more than 3,500 dedicated professionals who bring hope and opportunity to children, adults and families with services such as early intervention for infants and toddlers, an inclusive preschool, an Autism Center offering diagnosis and treatment, an approved private school, job training and placement, residential options including residential community homes, Lifesharing, in-home services, specialized therapies and behavioral health supports. Our organization also provides education and training to educators and professionals around the world.
In addition to our main campus in Erie, PA, we also provide services in Warren, Forest and Crawford Counties, in Bedford and Somerset, PA, and in the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh regions.
